U.S. stocks fell at the open on Thursday with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq dipping more than 1 percent as Greece once again soured risk appetite with more news on its deteriorating financial position.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 88.65 points, or 0.80 percent, at 11,036.27. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 12.71 points, or 1.05 percent, at 1,193.23. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 27.62 points, or 1.10 percent, at 2,476.99.
