stocks ended little changed, recouping losses late in the day on Thursday with financial shares turning around, led by gains in Goldman Sachs .

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 7.41 points, or 0.07 percent, to end unofficially at 10,359.31. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 1.31 points, or 0.12 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,096.48. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> inched down just 0.76 of a point, or 0.03 percent, to close unofficially at 2,249.08.
