Wall Street extends losses, S&P 500 off 2 percent
Stocks extended losses on Monday as investors questioned the potential strength of an economic recovery, while resource shares were dragged down by lower oil prices.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> fell 132.56 points, or 1.55 percent, to 8,407.17. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> lost 18.69 points, or 2.03 percent, to 902.54. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> shed 44.52 points, or 2.44 percent, to 1,782.95.
