Wall Street opens up on Greece plan, data eyed
Wall Street rose at the open on Friday after euro zone leaders agreed to create a safety net to help debt-burdened Greece, reinvigorating investor appetite for risk.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 26.98 points, or 0.25 percent, to 10,868.19. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 3.57 points, or 0.31 percent, to 1,169.30. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added 9.77 points, or 0.41 percent, to 2,407.18.
Investors also awaited data on consumer sentiment, due at 9:55 a.m. EDT.
