Wall Street opens lower

Wall Street edged lower at the open on Tuesday after an unexpected fall in U.S. home prices heightened concerns about the strength of the economic recovery.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 9.14 points, or 0.09 percent, at 10,374.24. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 1.63 points, or 0.15 percent, at 1,106.38. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> dipped 2.40 points, or 0.11 percent, at 2,239.63.
