Wall Street opens lower on debt ceiling woes
Stocks fell at the open on Monday with no deal in sight on raising the U.S. debt ceiling and investors still fretting over fiscal problems in Europe.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 79.89 points, or 0.64 percent, at 12,399.84. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 7.56 points, or 0.57 percent, at 1,308.58. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 14.26 points, or 0.51 percent, at 2,775.54.
