Wall Street rises after EU deal, consumer confidence
Stocks rose on Friday after EU leaders agreed on measures that partially address the region's debt crisis, while U.S. consumer confidence rose more than expected in December.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 108.83 points, or 0.91 percent, to 12,106.53. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 11.51 points, or 0.93 percent, to 1,245.86. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 17.92 points, or 0.69 percent, to 2,614.30.
