Wall Street slips after payrolls data
Stocks fell at the open on Friday after data showed a larger-than-expected drop of 131,000 in July non-farm payrolls.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 66.45 points, or 0.62 percent, to 10,608.53. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 7.97 points, or 0.71 percent, to 1,117.84. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> lost 18.34 points, or 0.80 percent, to 2,274.72.
The S&P 500 fund support at its 200-day simple moving average, now near 1,115, above which it has closed every day this week.
