Wednesday night's finale of American Idol was a star studded affair. A number of today's hottest artists took the stage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles to perform with the contestants of American Idol.

At the end of the night, it was 17-year-old Scotty Mccreery who was crowned the winner of season 10 of American Idol.

The country singer was up against 16-year-old Lauren Alaina who also has a knack for country music.

Both contestants put on great performances. McCreery got to sing with Tim McGraw while Alaina sand Before He Cheats accompanied by Carrie Underwood.

All of the previous Top 13 contestants had their moment on the stage. Haley Reinhart, who made it to the Top 3, sang with Tony Bennett while Casey Abrams sang with comedian Jack Black.
