Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller was transported off the field after he suffered a left knee injury on a reversed touchdown play during the third quarter of Sunday's 20-12 loss against the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Bears coach John Fox told reporters after the game that Miller dislocated his knee and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, ESPN reported.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with him," Fox said.

Miller, 33, had made a difficult touchdown catch from quarterback Mitch Trubisky in the end zone, however, he landed awkwardly on his left leg and had to be carted off the field.

Officials later waived off the touchdown play that injured Miller. Upon video review, they decided he did not maintain possession of the ball, and voided what would have been a 25-yard touchdown catch.

The Bears opted for a field goal on the following play while Miller was carted to the locker room.

Miller had two productive seasons for the Bears in 2015-16. He totaled 81 receptions, 925 yards, and nine touchdowns over 25 games.

He recorded 20 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns this season.

This isn't Miller’s first injury. He has battled foot ailments throughout his career. Miller was placed on injured reserve last season with a broken foot. It was the same injury he experienced during the 2014 preseason.
