A music video for Kanye West song Lost In The World, featuring folk singer Bon Iver, was released on YouTube on Friday May 4. The song was featured on Kanye West Album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which was released almost two years ago, and was produced by Kanye West and filmmaker Ruth Hogben http://ruthhogben.com/ with SHOW studio. Watch it here.

Kanye West has yet to comment on the newly released music video, but a post on Tumblr from SHOW studio explains the thought process behind the project:

Filmmaker Ruth Hogben collaborates with award-winning musician Kanye West to create a film for his single Lost in the World. The song, which features Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, is taken from West's fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Hogben's piece breaks the mould of popular rap aesthetics while still celebrating the extraordinary talent that has made West a modern icon.

The music video appears to have been created fairly recently, and in many ways is reminiscent of the video for Ni**as in Paris, by Jay-Z and Kanye West, which feautured a series of kaleidoscope images and flashing lights. The new video is equally trippy (artsy?) but is shot in black and white and features shots of Kanye rapping, woman in plain white robes and disorienting shots of city skyscrapers. WARNING: Like many of Kanye's videos, this one features strobe lights and could cause seizures for epileptic viewers.

What do think of the video? How does it measure up to Kanye's other videos? Why do you think the music video was so delayed? Express yourself!
