Former President Barack Obama's elder daughter Malia was harassed by a woman fan seeking a photo for her grandchild outside a Harvard Square eatery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Saturday, TMZ reported.

Malia moved into an on-campus residence of the Harvard University last week, and it will be her home until 2021.

According to the report, the woman approached Malia as she was about to enter a salad shop and requested for the photo, which she declined politely.

However, the woman waited for Malia to exit the shop.

"Are you gonna take it in my face like an animal in a cage," Malia retorted when the woman clicked her outside the establishment.

According to TMZ, Malia was annoyed when the woman tried to get her picture even after she refused to get clicked.

The video below, obtained by TMZ, is grainy but shows Malia and her friend leaving the eatery.

Barack and Michelle Obama both graduated from Harvard Law School. It is unclear what Malia is studying at the university. However, E!Online reported she is inclined toward filmmaking and has shown interest in the profession on several occasions.

Malia completed her high school in 2015 and chose to join Harvard after two years of internships. She worked at the U.S. Embassy in Spain as a summer intern in 2016 and later went to New York City to intern with the Weinstein Co., a mini-major film studio launched in October 2005 by Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Malia also helped Halle Berry on the sets of TV series "Extant" in 2014, following which she also got an opportunity to work with actress Lena Dunham on the sets of TV series "Girls" the next year.

“She was fantastic. She was amazing. She is such a smart, beautiful, young woman,” Berry said of Malia, during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”

“Look at who her mother and her father are, so duh! She was amazing,” the actress said.

“I was such a huge fan of her. She was amazing. She was down to do whatever a PA is asked to do and I had wild respect for her for that,” Berry continued. “But everybody couldn’t really see her as a PA. Although she tried and tried to be one, we just couldn’t really see her as one, but to her credit, she tried very hard to be one.”

Most recently, Malia found herself in the news after TMZ released a video showing the 19-year-old being carted out of Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.

“It's unclear how much time elapsed between this video and the other footage we got of her rocking out to The Killers that night — but she's wearing the same clothes,” TMZ staff reported. “Barack's oldest daughter headbanged and writhed on the ground with friends — basically, doing what 19-year-olds at Lollapalooza typically do.”
