Everyone’s favorite animated science fiction show is taking on a whole new medium. Earlier this month, International Business Times reported that “Rick And Morty: Virtual Rick-ality,” a VR game based on the popular “Adult Swim” animated series by the same name, would release for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive Thursday. Having released only a teaser for the game at the time, fans were eager to know more about the highly anticipated game.

Adult Swim Games gave potential players a closer look at the game Friday when it dropped a minute-long plug for “Virtual Rick-ality.” At first adopting the format of a traditional infomercials scheme, the video then pans out for a meta-critique at the game by the actual Rick Sánchez and Morty Smith, who are watching a commercial for the very game they’re starring in. (Sound confusing yet? It wouldn’t be like the show to make it anything less.)

“Hey, you! Are you tired of boring reality day-in and day-out?” asks Morty in that familiar strained, high-octave tone used by infomercial personalities. “Well, now you can strap this box to your face and experience the lives of your favorite Rick and Morty characters!”

As the frame pans out, Rick explains the premise. “I sold our likenesses to some video game publisher for a lot of money, Morty,” says Rick. “They made a whole virtual reality game, and it’s got all kinds of great things about it, Morty.”

“I don’t think I like this, you know?” responds perpetual worrywart Morty.

“I don’t care if you like it, Morty. It’s a VR game,” says Rick. “It’s the hottest new trend, Morty. It’s the new future of entertainment, Morty.”

Sounds about right.

The official synopsis for the game reads:

Experience life as a clone of Morty and all the trauma that comes with it. Step through portals to strange worlds, help Rick with his bizarre experiments, and use your hands in VR to pick up and play in an interaction-filled 3D Rick-ality. Follow Rick’s directions (or don’t!) to solve puzzles and complete missions in this fully voice acted adventure.

If HTC Vive or Oculus Rift aren’t your jam, the game is also available for PC. Check out the teaser video above.
