The watch (legally) a live stream of the Women's World Cup Final, go to ESPN3 and log on with a valid cable subscription account. FIFA also offers a live and free version, but only for select countries (see list of the countries here).

To watch play-by-play coverage of the match, go to FIFA's website. IBTimes is providing its own coverage and commentary on this page or in the box below.

As for TV broadcasts, ESPN is playing it in the US, CBC in Canada, and Eurosport in Europe. Many bars in metropolitan areas will also likely broadcast this event.

The two-time champion US is favored to win the match, although one shouldn't discount Japan after their dominating performance against Sweden in the semi-finals.

However, history is against the defensive and technically-accomplished Japanese team as they have never beaten the US national team before. Aggregating all their encounters with the US team, they have been outscored 77-13, according to The Score.

Japan is the second Asian team to play in the FIFA Women's World Cup finals. The first team was China, whose losing effort against the US in 1999 is arguably the most famous women's soccer match of all time.
