The wife of Representative Anthony Weiner is pregnant with the couple's first child, according to a New York Times report citing three sources with knowledge of the situation.

Weiner's wife had earlier made it clear that she would stand by her husband even after he had admitted to have sent sexually charged material over internet to several women. Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, had married Rep. Weiner a year ago. Weiner, meanwhile is resisting calls to resign from his position, who used to be a rising star in the democratic party before he was mired in the sexting scandal.

Rejecting calls from key Democrats asking him to step down, Weiner said that majority of New York City voters want him to remain in office. According to a CNN report, the Representative cited a polling data to support his claim which described him as dug in.

New polling information showed 56% percent of constituents in his home district want him to stay on, CNN wrote quoting an anonymous source close to the situation.

512 voters living in New York's 9th Congressional District, which stretches from Queens and into Brooklyn, participated in the poll on Thursday and found that only 33 percent think Weiner should resign. Twelve percent were not sure. Both Democrats and Republicans in Weiner's district want him to stay. The poll also found that a staggering 63 percent of Democrats said Weiner should not resign, while 47 percent of Republicans agreed with them.

Meanwhile a new photograph more explicit than the previously published ones appeared on the Internet, allegedly of Weiner's naked genitals. With the new development, the issue apparently has a long way to go before the Democrats and the public reach a decision. While the his party men say that stepping down will save the Rep's dignity, Weiner looks prepared to stay until and steadfast decision about his political career is made by the Democrats.
