Your move, Elon Musk. Bill Gates accepted Mark Zuckerberg's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge today and took it to a whole other level, one that involves a sliderule, a blowtorch and some engineering. This kind of one-upsmanship isn't bad for The ALS Association, which has raised nearly $10 million since the challenge went viral last month.

To recap, if you take a bucket of ice, you get to nominate three others who have 24 hours to comply, or donate $100 to research for a cure from Lou Gehrig's Disease. Gates called out Musk, Ryan Seacrest, and Chris Anderson of TED.
