While Steve Jobs' death is being talked by many and posts of “Steve Jobs RIP” are piling up in Twitter, Westboro Baptist Church is planning to picket at the Apple co-founder’s funeral, although the funeral details have not been revealed to the public.

Westboro will picket his funeral. He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin, Margie Phelps, daughter of Fred Phelps, the founder of Westboro Baptist Church, tweeted Oct. 5.

Ironically, Twit shows that it was posted via Twitter for iPhone. Facing the criticism about her tweeting from an iPhone, Phelps also tweeted this: Rebels mad cuz I used iPhone to tell you Steve Jobs is in hell. God created iPhone for that purpose! :)

Westboro Baptist Church is a Kansas-based church, started by Fred Phelps, a former civil rights activist and lawyer. The group had only 71 members in 2007 and now consists mostly of members of Fred Phelps’ large family.

Known for its stance against homosexuality, Westboro Baptist Church has been actively involved in the anti-gay movement. The church plans to picket Steve Jobs' funeral because Jobs was the chairman of Apple, one of the most gay-friendly companies.

Its previous protest activities include picketing funerals of dead American soldiers and desecrating the American flag. On January 15, 2006, Westboro members protested a memorial for 2006 Sago Mine disaster victims, claiming that the mining accident was God's revenge against America for its tolerance of homosexuality.
