The infamous Westboro Baptist Church is well-known for generating controversy by targeting others, so it’s refreshing when they themselves are in the crosshairs. According to Gawker, a California-based punk band named Get Shot! filmed a porn movie on the front lawn of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan.

As Gawker reports, the band, which calls itself “ridiculously sleazy,” also runs a free porn site, which they used to distribute a clip of their bass player Laura Lush masturbating while nude in front of the WBC headquarters.

"The Phelps family and Westboro Baptist Church are ridiculous and do nothing except spread hate and cause controversy," Lush said in a press release. "As a bisexual woman and the bass player of a ridiculous punk band, I wanted to spread my legs and cause controversy."

The band decided to film the clip while on their way to a show in Denver. According to the press release, they managed to evade “Westboro’s surveillance cameras, armed security and the state’s strict obscenity laws.” Nobody was caught or arrested.
“There was a lot of traffic, and we saw a few cops at a coffee shop a few blocks away,” singer J.P. Hunter said. “We barley (sic) had enough gas money and cocaine to make it to Denver for our next concert. Since we can’t afford bail, we had to cut it a little short before the cops got called. If someone will bail us out, we will bring a group of girls and a whole camera crew when we come back in a few months.”
According to Gawker, there hasn’t been any official response from the various Twitter accounts associated with the Westboro Baptist Church.
Earlier today, the band tweeted the following to the church: “Someone from your church's IP address spent 41 minutes looking at our website. That's longer than the video on your lawn!!!"
Meanwhile, Westboro continues to issue tweets on the 2013 government shutdown (“Thank God for government shutdown! "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people") and their battles with county stars Blake Shelton and Vince Gill.
