It might still be a long wait before “Westworld” Season 2 returns to HBO, but the show is already gearing up for production.

Talulah Riley, who played host Angela in the first season, has just been promoted to series regular, according to Entertainment Weekly. Angela is the greeter-host in Westworld, and she was introduced as a different host in a different narrative in the latter part of the series.

According to the report, Angela is “a host whose beatific face welcomed guests to Westworld for decades. Angela will prove to be one of the last faces many guests will ever see.”

Meanwhile, former series regular Jimmi Simpson, who played young William, is still uncertain whether or not he’ll return. “So far, my involvement in that is unclear. If they have more for William, I would assume it would be a whole new kind of story. Because I feel like this story, the love affair [with Evan Rachel Wood’s character, Dolores], we know everything, we know what happens, we don’t have to belabor that point,” he told GQ Magazine.

But if show creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy can come up with an interesting storyline for his character, then he would not hesitate to return. “But if they have a reason — I mean, it was the greatest set I’ve ever worked on. But we’re all speculating what Season 2 will be, and I think it’ll be something that will blow our minds, to the degree that the first season did. But I wouldn’t be surprised if William showed up season three or something,” he said.

His older counterpart, Ed Harris, on the other hand, has already confirmed with BBC 4 Radio that he will be back to reprise his role as the Man in Black.

“Westworld” Season 2 will return to HBO in 2018.
