A post-credits scene on the "Justice League" movie dropped a major bombshell about future DC Comics films. Warner Bros.

DC is officially getting movie fans buzzing after a big post-credits scene from "Justice League" dropped some potential major hints about future movies in the comic studio's universe.

Taking a hint from Marvel, which has been known for including these teaser scenes at the end of their films over the years, DC opted to include a scene at the end of their newest film, which released in theaters on Nov. 17. Though it isn't something they do often, this time it may have been the right call, as the scene may have dropped some huge hints about what fans can expect in some of their future films.

Spoiler Alert: The ending-credits scene of the "Justice League" movie is discussed in detail below.

The big scene opens in the prison where Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) is being held following the events of "Batman v. Superman," only instead of being in his prison cell, Lex has actually been replaced with someone else. He then appears to be sailing away, free, on a luxurious yacht. However, he isn't alone for long.

The scene then shows a boat pulling up to the yacht, with Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) riding in it, and removing his mask to reveal his face for the first time. Lex then propositions Deathstroke to join him and create "A league of their own," though the scene officially cuts out before he answers.

While seeing Deathstroke is a big moment in itself, the bigger reveal is that Lex has gone free. As Vox points out, his freedom means he is able to go up against Superman in a future film, and his offer to Deathstroke also hints at the potential league of villains that could appear whenever a "Justice League" sequel is filmed. Those potential other villains have not been revealed as of yet.

This reveal was big for DC/Warner Brothers because the studio doesn't always utilize the post-credits scene technique at the end of their films. This lack of doing so was most recently felt in "Wonder Woman," after that film was released in June. However, in an interview with the Toronto Sun in September, director Patty Jenkins revealed it had been her decision to forego a post-credits scene because it didn't fit with her vision of the film.

"I'm not always a believer in post-credit scenes. I feel like they make sense if the films are extremely similar. I think if you know the next movie is going to be set in the same world or have the exact same tone, then I think it makes sense. To me, it does not make sense to have a commercial for a completely different style of movie in the credits of another movie," she said at the time. "One of my favorite things about the DC Universe is they were super supportive of me doing my own tone, but there's no other movie that they have that's of the same tone. So it just felt weird to do some other crossover. Also, the end of the movie was the end. It wasn't, 'Tune in later for more.'"
