First Lady Melania Trump stunned in a black and white polka-dot dress Thursday while her husband, President Donald Trump, gave a speech about the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride at the White House, but not everyone was impressed with her sleeveless garb. Some Twitter users slammed the first lady’s outfit, claiming she wasn’t properly dressed. Others, however, defended to former model.

“You looked beautiful in your black & white dress this morning!! I'm happy you are our Flotus!!” one person wrote. “If the dress that Melania has on was any uglier I think I would vomit!!! Ugh, they make me sick!!” another tweeted.

At the time this article was written, the designer of the dress was not immediately known.

The president promoted Thursday’s event on his personal Twitter account two days before. “Looking forward to hosting our heroes from the Wounded Warrior Project (@WWP) Soldier Ride to the @WhiteHouse on Thursday!” he tweeted to his 27.4 million followers. The post was liked more than 52,000 times and shared over 10,000 times.

“Thank you, @realDonaldTrump,” the Wounded Warrior Project responded Tuesday. “Our warriors are excited to take part in this annual #SoldierRideDC tradition and visit the @WhiteHouse.”

Hosting the WWP at the White House was started by former President George W. Bush in 2008 and continued with former President Barack Obama.

“For over a decade, Wounded Warrior Project has worked with our nation's leaders to improve the lives of wounded veterans and connect them with services that will empower them to live their lives on their own terms,” said WWP CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Linnington in a press release Tuesday. “I am excited that the warriors we serve will have the chance to ride through our nation's capital and be hosted by the president at the White House. It's a tremendous honor, and we're incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue this amazing tradition.”

The FLOTUS did not publicly respond to scrutiny about her attire at the event.
