Prince Harry has been introduced to Meghan Markle's father, the actress' brother revealed Wednesday. Thomas Markle Jr told Daily Mail that his father met Prince Harry during one of the 32-year-old's visits to Toronto, Canada.

“My dad knew about (the relationship) from the start," Thomas Markle Jr said. "He first met Prince Harry about six months ago out in Toronto. He goes once every couple of months - (Meghan and Thomas Markle Sr) are very close and they stay in close contact."

Meghan's half-brother added: “He’s pretty happy about Harry and he’s extremely proud of her. They have an amazing relationship, they’re very close and they always have been.”

While talking about Meghan and Prince Harry's relationship, Thomas Markle Jr, said the couple was “very much in love,” and "they’re extremely happy together, they look great together and she’s done good.”

Prince Harry and Meghan were first rumored to be dating in October, and the romance was confirmed in November when Kensington Palace released a statement asking the public to stop harassing the Hollywood star.

“His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. … Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her,” the statement read. “It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm.”

Last month, E! Online reported that Prince Harry is taking his relationship seriously as he introduced her to his family, including brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton. The “Suits” actress also got the chance to meet Prince George and Princess Charlotte, but she has not yet been introduced to Queen Elizabeth II.
