Today marks 10 years since the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire love story, “Twilight,” came out and made stars Kristen Stewart (Bella), Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and many others household names. Now, after five films have been made in the franchise, and 10 years have passed since the first, Lutz is ready to don the white face powder once more.

Though no new “Twilight” films have been announced, Lutz wants to get back into the vampire world to continue to share the story of his character, Emmett Cullen. Though, not necessarily in the form of a sequel. What did he mean by this? International Business Times asked the 33-year-old actor at New York Comic Con to say it, out loud.

“I think [Emmett] was the only one who wasn’t really touched on that much, even with the excerpt with Emmet and the bear and how he turned into a vampire,” Lutz told IBT. “[I’d want] to see the love story more…I would, of course, love to have more Emmet, do another movie, do a more origin story of how he came to be. That’d be fun.”

While looking across the NYCC room at his former co-star from the series, Jackson Rathbone (Jasper), Lutz shared with a small group of reporters that, much like their vampire counterparts, he doesn’t think he and Rathbone have aged much. This leads him to believe that they “could all play our characters again and look the exact same.”

If the stars ever align and he’s able to go back to this iconic role of his, the actor’s sure of one thing: He wouldn’t change how he played Emmet. Lutz loves how “authentically joyful” he portrayed the character and believes he would keep that the exact same.

Twihards, while you’re waiting for this dream of a “Twilight” prequel to come true, you can always celebrate the original movie’s 10th anniversary with the new “Twilight” 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, which includes all-new featurettes to enjoy.
