“A Nightmare On Elm Street” — April 1 — This 1984 horror movie is a classic. The Wes Craven-directed movie introduced the iconic Freddy Krueger to audiences and marked Johnny Depp’s silver screen debut.

“Across the Universe” — April 1 — This 2007 musical movie utilizes Beatles songs to tell a story about young adults during the Vietnam War. Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Sturgess star.

“Schindler’​s List” — April 1 — Steven Spielberg’s Oscar winning World War II film hits Netflix this month. Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson) plans to make money off the war. He joins the Nazi party and opens a factory with Jewish workers. However, he soon starts saving Jews when he keeps them in his factory and out of concentration camps.

“Disney’s The BFG” — April 6 — Disney adapted Roald Dahl’s novel in 2016, and it’s pretty cute. 10-year-old Sophie discovers the Big Friendly Giant (Mark Rylance), but not all giants are that charming. Together they set out to convince Queen Elizabeth to help them banish the child-eating giants.

“The Get Down: Part 2” — April 7 — “Moulin Rouge” director Baz Luhrmann dropped the first half of Netflix’s expensive musical drama last summer. The second half will follow the same group of New York kids in the ‘70s. They all show off their musical talents as Mylene (Herizen F. Guardiola) tries to follow her disco dreams and Zeke (Justice Smith) discovers his talent for rapping.

“The Great British Baking Show: Masterclass” Season 1-3 — April 22 — Let Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood show you how to bake like a British pro. “The Great British Baking Show” judges reveal how they would handle the challenges that competitors faced.

“Queen of Katwe” — April 25 — This Disney movie is based on the true story of Phiona (Madina Nalwanga), a girl in Uganda who soon becomes a chess champion. Her abilities offer her the opportunity to help her family escape from poverty. Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo also star in the 2016 film.
