Congratulations are in order for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who became engaged in early November. Although the couple has just revealed the big news, they already have their minds made up about when they would like to get married.

Kensington Palace released an official announcement on Monday, confirming the engagement news and revealing the couple’s tentative wedding season of choice.

“His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle. The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course,” the statement read.

While getting married will be a huge step in the couple’s relationship, Markle and Prince Harry have many things to figure out in just a few months, seeing as spring begins March 20 and ends June 21.

It is unknown whether it will either be in a low-key ceremony or a luxurious, over-the-top wedding. However, seeing as Markle has been married before, to Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013, historian Hugo Vickers, who is close to the eldest members of the royal family, believes Prince Harry may want to have a smaller event like his father Prince Charles had when he wed Camilla Bowles.

“Meghan Markle has already been married, so I believe they would have a service of blessing,” he told People.

Prince Harry’s older brother, Prince William, who was married for the first time to Kate Middleton, had an extravagant wedding at Westminster Abbey, whereas, it is believed that Prince Harry and Markle will have a small ceremony outside London, possibly at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle

“I don’t imagine that Prince Harry will go for a big grand wedding,” Vickers told the publication. “He would want to do it his own way.”

While the couple has to quickly decide the type of wedding they would like to hold, they will do so while having the support of not only Markle’s parents but the royal family. Both parties expressed their support for the couple’s union and are patiently awaiting the day that they officially become man and wife.
