The Houston Texans looked like one of the NFL’s best teams in Week 6, cruising past the Cleveland Browns 33-17. The team will have to wait before they get back on the field since they have a bye in Week 7.

When do the Texans play next? Houston is scheduled to visit the Seattle Seahawks at 4:05 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Oct. 29. Considering how the Texans have played with Deshaun Watson at quarterback, it could be one of the best games in Week 8.

Watson continued to look impressive in his last start. Even though it came against the winless Browns, the quarterback’s three touchdown passes and 103.4 passer rating can’t be overlooked.

Less than a year after leading Clemson to a national championship, Watson is making history. His 15 touchdown passes are a rookie record through six weeks of an NFL season, and he’s on pace to throw for more scores than any other first-year player. He leads the entire league in touchdown passes, and Watson is the only rookie quarterback to ever throw for at least three touchdowns in three straight games.

Known for their defense, the Texans are now one of the NFL’s best offensive teams with Watson at the helm. The team has scored at least 33 points in each of their last four games, and they are tied for second in the league in points per game.

A 3-3 record puts Houston in a three-way tie with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans for first place in the AFC South. The Texans have alternated wins and losses each week, though there’s reason to believe that they are the best team in the division.

Two of Houston’s losses have come to the defending champion New England Patriots and the 5-1 Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans lost at home to the Jaguars in the season opener, but Tom Savage, not Watson, started the first half at quarterback.

Houston picked up a key divisional win over Tennessee in Week 4, blowing out the Titans 57-14. Their next AFC South matchup comes in Week 9 when they host the Indianapolis Colts. Andrew Luck, who hasn’t played all season, could be back in time for that contest.

After picking up a win against Cleveland, Houston doesn’t have any easy games in the near future. They’ll visit the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10 and host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11. It’s back on the road for the Texans in Week 12 and Week 13 with matchups against the Baltimore Ravens and Titans. None of those teams are under .500.

If the Texans are going to make a playoff run, it’ll have to come in spite of injuries to a few of their best players. J.J. Watt is done for the year for a second straight season, suffering an injury against Kansas City. Whitney Mercilus suffered a season-ending injury in the same game.

Houston has finished each of the last three regular seasons with a 9-7 record.
