“The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 2 is one of 2018’s most highly-anticipated premieres. While the return of the Hulu show is still several months away, we already have a few spoilers about the new episodes.

April Release Date: Hulu has not given an exact premiere date for “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 2, but the streaming platform confirmed that the dystopian drama will return in April.

Ofglen Returns: Alexis Bledel won an Emmy for her first outing as Emily (also known as Ofglen and Ofsteven), and she’ll be back in Season 2. She was last seen stealing a car and brutally running over an officer, so it’s safe to say that she won’t be in a good place when Season 2 kicks off.

Ofglen/Emily (Alexis Bledel) will return in “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 2. Hulu

Ofglen’s Wife: Audiences will meet Emily’s family. Clea DuVall will play Sylvia, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Sylvia will be trying to flee to Canada with her young son, but as viewers have seen, escaping isn’t easy.

More Rita: Offred (Elisabeth Moss) gave Rita (Amanda Brugel), the Martha in her house, the letters written by other handmaids. It’s safe to say Rita will have a bigger role in Season 2. Brugel will be a series regular next year.

Surprises: Season 1 ended where the book left off, so readers no longer have spoilers. However, Moss promised that even big fans won’t see the Season 2 premiere twist coming. “Don’t try to guess what happens in that first scene of episode 1 in Season 2,” she told TV Guide. “You will never get it, and I mean that objectively as a viewer. You just won’t guess, and I love that so much.”

Colonies: Audiences will see the oft-talked about area where women are sent to work if they can’t help families. “I’m sure it will be another wretched and fascinating place, like Gilead,” Bledel said at a pre-Emmy event in August (via Variety).

Margaret Atwood: While her original storyline has been finished, the “Handmaid’s Tale” author is still involved with the Emmy award-winning show. She’ll continue to consult with showrunner Bruce Miller.
