“Marvel’s Runaways” is new territory for the comic book TV company. It’s Marvel Television’s first teen-focused drama, and it’s also the first show they’ve debuted on Hulu. The premiere and release time is also a little different than other Marvel series.

While Netflix’s shows like “Daredevil” and “The Punisher” release at midnight on the west coast, Hulu’s new series premieres at midnight on the east coast. That means the first three episodes of “Marvel’s Runaways” Season 1 will premiere at 12 a.m. EST on Tuesday, Nov. 21, and the west coast will get to see it on Monday at 9 p.m. PST.

Hulu is another subscription service (which is partly owned by The Walt Disney Company, Marvel’s parent company) that will require you to sign up. The free trial will be a month long, but after that, plans start at $5.99 a month, which will still include commercials. Upgrade to the $11.99 plan if you want to skip the ads. The service gets more expensive with special features, like live TV and premium channels. Subscribers can watch on Hulu’s website or through a variety of mobile devices.

Runaways release time
“Runaways” will be the first Marvel adaptation on Hulu. Hulu

“Runaways” Season 1 follows six teenagers whose parents are part of an organization called the Pride. They tell their kids that they’re all part of a charity, but when the teens sneak into one of their meetings, they realize their parents might be evil.

The drama is a little different than Marvel’s usual fare. It’s the first time the TV division is delving into teen drama, so they asked experts to run the show. “The O.C.” and “Gossip Girl” producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are showrunners, but they’ve received some help from the ultimate source, “Runaways” comic book creator Brian K. Vaughn.

“It was great having him in the room not just to sort of bless things so that we and the writers felt comfortable pitching new things and changing things,” Savage told International Business Times earlier this fall. “But he actually generated a lot of ideas and would come in and be kind of nervous to like pitch something and hoping people would like it. Things that changed his own story, but things that he understood made sense for what we were doing. And some things that I think he actually would have liked to have done the first time if he had the opportunity.”

Fans will get to see how the story changed when the show premieres Tuesday on Hulu.
