Maksim Chmerkovskiy won’t let his calf injury keep him from “Dancing With the Stars.” After two weeks on the sidelines, he’s toying with the idea of a full return in the coming weeks.

During Vegas Night, Maks stepped into the ballroom to congratulate partner Heather Morris and deliver an update. He told host Tom Bergeron he was hoping to be at his best again by the end of this week. The moment Maks’ calf injury heals he plans to get back into rehearsals.

“I’m hoping for a full comeback [by the] end of this week and then we’ll start rehearsing,” he told “DWTS” fans.

ET Online caught up with Peta Murgatroyd behind the scenes to discuss her beau’s big return. The new mom seemed elated by Maks’ progress. Peta anticipates her future husband will be back on “DWTS” in Week 5.

“It was nice having him here. He's going to be back soon I think...I don’t know if he’ll be dancing next week, but the next week after he will definitely be dancing.”

Throughout the healing process, Maks has been sharing social media updates with fans. On Sunday, the “DWTS” pro posted a progress video from physical therapy. In it, he walks across the floor as if he was never hurt.

With his injury healing so quickly, Maks feels confident that he and Heather can still win “DWTS.” His surprised his partner and Alan Bersten during an appearance on “Good Morning America.” During a video call, Maks said that he was ready to come back and win “DWTS” Season 24.

“I still feel like we have a chance,” the pro said. “You deserve it and I want to give you 150 percent effort and be physically active as I was at my best when nothing hurt. I want to come back and win.”

Tune in to “DWTS” Week 5, during which teams will be performing to a song from the most memorable year of their lives. The show airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
