Justin Bieber’s DUI arrest in Miami Beach, Fla., Thursday has fans of the 19-year-old pop star wondering where his parents were during his latest scandal. Very close, it turns out. According to a new report, his father, Jeremy Bieber, was right next to the “Never Say Never” singer the entire time.

According to a report from TMZ, Jeremy Bieber was not only present during the teenage singer’s arrest early Thursday morning but also participated in the drag race that brought his famous son to the attention of local authorities. According to the report, the 38-year-old elder Bieber spent the night at SET nightclub with the singer before helping him “block off” the residential street for his now-infamous Lamborghini street race.

E! News had spotted the Canadian singer in a Miami outing with his father t day before the arrest, showing images of the father-son duo enjoying a walk on the beach before renting Segways. Later in the day, they reportedly paid a visit to MIA Skate Shop in Miami with Bieber's friend and fellow alleged drag racer Def Jam Recording artist Khalil. Jeremy Bieber also shared a private moment with his son on Instagram, posting an image of them using their phones with the caption, “These guys are addicted to @shots.”

TMZ first reported Thursday that Bieber was arrested for a suspected DUI, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest without violence after being pulled over for going up to 60 mph in a 30 mph zone. Law enforcement officials reportedly revealed to the gossip site that the singer failed a field sobriety test at the scene. According to a press conference with the Miami Beach Police Department Thursday, Bieber admitted to being under the influence of beer, marijuana and prescription drugs at the time of his arrest.

Bieber appeared before Judge Joseph P. Farina in Miami on Thursday. His bail was set at $2,500.
