Prince Harry recently attended the London Fire Brigade carol service at Westminster Cathedral, but his fiancée, Meghan Markle, was not in tow.

Even though the couple is already engaged, Markle is not expected to join Prince Harry in all of his public engagements. In fact, even when they get married, there will instances wherein Prince Harry and Markle will be attending public events separately.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Markle has also be given the opportunity to visit her family and friends before their royal wedding takes place in May 2018. She is currently in Londong, but will soon be traveling elsewhere to be with her loved ones.

After spending time with her family and friends, Markle is expected to settle into her new life as a British citizen and as a member of the royal family.

Last Friday, Markle and Prince Harry attended their first royal engagement in Nottingham. The couple was welcomed by greetings and cheers from the massive crowd.

According to Telegraph, the “Suits” alum was heard introducing herself to the people who gathered in Nottingham. “Hi, I’m Meghan,” she said. At one point, Markle was heard saying, “I’m so happy. It’s just such a thrill to be here.”

A woman named Ann McGuire revealed that Markle bent down and spoke to her 3-year-old son, Leo. “She reached out again and grabbed my hand and said I’m so glad you braved it to stand in the cold,” McGuire recounted.

Meanwhile, details about Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming nuptials are still being kept under wraps. What is only known is that it will be held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Approximately 800 guests could attend Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told the publication that fans wouldn’t get to see a big wave from Markle after her wedding because their chosen wedding venue doesn’t have a balcony.

“So we won’t get to see that big balcony way that we got with the royal wedding being in central London and of course at Buckingham Palace. But I’m told by the aides at Kensington Palace that the couple is looking at ways to make the public as much a part of this wedding as they can,” she said.
