Xur This Week
Xur is in a great mood this week in "Destiny." The merchant has a great pair of gauntlets for Titans and the Dragon's Breath rocket launcher. Bungie

The holiday season is over, but that doesn't mean Xur won't be basking in the afterglow of goodwill. The mysterious merchant has been keeping his shop open even with heavy competition from Christmas and New Year's Day. Xur's store opened for business at 5 a.m. EST stocked with various exotic items. Don't get too caught up in a raid because Xur will take his wares to parts unknown at 5 a.m. Sunday.

Xur can be found in the left side of the Tower. After traveling down a few steps into a courtyard area, Xur can be found to the right in front of a door. It appears Christmas came late because Xur has some really great items for "Destiny" players. An impressive highlight this weekend is the Dragon's Breath rocket launcher. The weapon includes special napalm damage with other upgrades to increase the reload speed. There are other perks to increase the amount of ammo found in "Destiny." The No Backup Plans gauntlets for Titans includes a Force Multiplier perk for shotguns.

After the release of "The Taken King," "Destiny" finally reached the high expectations of many critics and players. Released in 2014, "Destiny" was seen as a good-to-great game that had a few missing elements that could have made the game truly special. "The Taken King" expansion improved the game's story and overall experience.

Aside from Xur, there's another reason why players should log into "Destiny" this weekend. As a way to thank players for a great year, Bungie decided to unload a bunch of free stuff. Beginning Thursday, players received 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light just for playing "Destiny." Players need to visit the Postmaster to see when their gift will arrive. As an additional incentive, Bungie is including a mystery emblem for any player who logs onto "Destiny" from Thursday to Sunday. Players need to complete an activity in their Director to qualify.
