As sure as the flowers bloom in spring, so Xur has once again arrived in “Destiny.” The merchant is selling his assortment of gear for your Titan, Hunter or Warlock from 5 a.m. EDT Friday to 5 a.m EDT Sunday. Even better, the arrival of every player’s favorite shopkeeper comes after Bungie revealed new details of its big spring update, which includes new challenges and a boost in the Light level cap.
Xur can be found in the Tower to the right. After a trip through the corridors, the merchant can be found in the tower hanger to the left. Last week, the Agent of the Nine had a mediocre lineup of armor that was saved by the impressive Zhalo Supercell weapon. This week, it appears Xur learned his lesson and is offering up a variety of gear that should please fans.

The Empyrean Bellicose lets players remain airborne for an extended period of time after aiming in the air. The Crest of Alpha Lupi lets players revive fallen allies and get revived faster. The Alchemist’s Rainment adds the chance to gain Glimmer on Primary Ammo. The Invective shotgun includes a full auto fire mode with increased range and impact, and the last round of ammo deals additional damage and can regenerate ammo over a period of time.
For “Destiny” players, Xur’s arrival is icing on the cake after Bungie revealed some big changes that will be included in the April 12 update. There will be new quests, a new Prison of Elders challenge, bounties and strikes, according to Bungie. The aftermath of “Destiny: The Taken King” will be a big part of the spring update with the introduction of a new boss, Malok. The Light level cap will be raised to 335. The Prison of Elders challenge will get players from a Light level of 260 to 320, the previous Light cap. The Challenge of Elders will get players from a Light level of 320 to the new cap of 335.
