White House spokesman Robert Gibbs wore a Team Canada hockey jersey during his press briefing Friday to pay off a bet.

Gibbs made the bet with his counterpart Dmitri Soudas, the spokesman of Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Gibbs had said he would wear a Canadian jersey to a news briefing if the Canadians won in the Winter Olympics 2010 and Soudas would wear the U.S. one in the other case.

Canada defeated the U.S. 3 to 2 to win the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Vancouver.

But during the briefing, Gibbs took off his Canada jersey to reveal a U.S. team jersey which he wore as he answered questions.
