White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs mocked former Alaska governor Sarah Palin at the White House on Tuesday, for reading notes from the palm of her hand during a public appearance at the Tea Party convention.
Gibbs showed the palm of his left hand to reporters with the words hope, and change, written on it, according to a photograph from the Associated Press.
The reporters did not laugh but groaned at Gibb's gesture.
Palin was widely criticized for reading crib notes written on the palm of her left hand during a question and answer session with Tea Party founder Judson Phillips at the Tea Party convention in Nashville on Saturday.
The words written on her hand were energy, budget cuts, (Which was crossed out), Tax, and lift American spirits.
