Android Police shared press photos of the smartphone, which features a black screen and white back panel, as expected, while LG Mobile CEO Jong-seok Park shared with Cnet details about the white Nexus 4.

"Nexus 4 White delivers the same Google experience to consumers in a stylish and attractive color option," Park said in a statement.

Contrary to rumors, the white Nexus 4 appears to simply be another color option for LG and Google’s popular smartphone, which initially sold well in a black version for about $299.99 without a contract and had a stock Android user interface.

Many hoped that the white Nexus 4 would feature 4G LTE connectivity -- something that the original Nexus 4 also lacks. Fans also hoped that the white Nexus 4 would come in a 32GB internal storage option; however, like the black version, it only comes in 8GB and 16GB options.

Rumors also suggested that the white Nexus 4 could introduce the highly anticipated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean; however, the system update remains unconfirmed and the white Nexus will ship with Android 4.2.2.

The white and black Nexus 4 devices are identical by way of specs, which include 4.7-inch, 1280 x 768 True HD IPS Plus display at 320 ppi, the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocking in at 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, an 8- megapixel main camera and a micro-SIM card tray.

While the white Nexus 4 is now official, rumors surrounding the device haven't yet died. More recent reports indicate that the Nexus 4 was spotted running Android 4.3 at the Thailand Mobile Expo, suggesting that the device could receive an update once the next Android operating system is released. Meanwhile, recent rumors surrounding Android 4.3 suggest that evidence of the system has been leaked by way of a screenshot on an unconfirmed Nexus device.

For now, we can look forward to the U.S. release of the white Nexus 4, which will sell in its 8GB variant for $299, while it’s 16GB variant will sell for $349.99.
