A big congratulations are in order for “New Girl” star Zooey Deschanel after the starlet announced she and boyfriend Jacob Pechenik are expecting a baby together, but many people have no idea who Pechenik is. The couple first became known to the public in August after they attended the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California, but since then their relationship has remained relatively quiet.

Other than being Deschanel’s partner, Pechenik is an executive producer. He is best known for films like 2013’s “Before Midnight,” 2013’s “Jobs,” 2014’s “The Skeleton Twins” and 2013’s “The Immigrant,” according to the Internet Movie Database. He doesn’t have much of a profile on the IMDB, where he has 20 producer credits.

As a couple, Pechenik and Deschanel are big on PDA--public displays of affection, Bustle reported in August.

I's probably safe to say he isn’t a big social media guy. He doesn’t appear to have an account on Twitter and his apparent Facebook page says that he lives in Austin, Texas, and is from San Antonio. On Instagram, his supposed page only has three posts and he has a following of 256 people.

So what made Deschanel, 34, fall for the 42-year-old? Though she’s an avid Tweeter, the “(500) Days of Summer” star doesn’t share much personal information on her public accounts. She did share a little information in a statement to People magazine, though. “Jacob and I are over the moon,” she said. “We are so excited to meet our little one.” The child will presumably be a summer baby.

Before Pechenik, Deschanel dated screenwriter Jamie Linden for two years after she divorced Death Cab for Cutie lead singer Ben Gibbard in 2012 after three years of marriage, Us Weekly wrote.
