Kevin Edson, the 25-year-old man who allegedly told police he had a rice cooker in one of the backpacks he was carrying near the finish line of the Boston Marathon Tuesday night, appears to be a performance artist who posted a photo of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the brothers said to be behind last year’s attack that killed three people and injured more than 200 others, on his Facebook page.

The cover photo of Edson’s Facebook page [he refers to himself as “Kayvon Edson”] features the image of Tsarnaev that was used by Rolling Stone in its cover story on the suspected terrorist. The photo is accompanied by the text, “Had a blast at the marathon!!! Y U Stalin 2 Call Me????????”

According to Edson’s Facebook page, he lives in Boston and has been studying at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology since 2010. He also says he’s a blogger at Natural Selection.

Edson made that image his cover photo on Wednesday, according to the timestamp on the post. He used the hashtag #BloggoristAttack and said he was with Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Dzokhar’s brother who was killed in a firefight with authorities in Watertown, Mass., five days after the bombing. Dzhokhar was injured in the clash and was found bleeding while hiding out in a boat later that day. He was later indicted on terrorism and other charges.

Instagram user aliciaamskisrd shot video of what appears to be Edson wearing a black veil and shouting “Boston Strong” shortly before being apprehended by police Tuesday night. The 25-year-old was expected to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of threatening battery, possession of a hoax device, threat to commit a crime, disturbing the peace, disturbing a public assembly and disorderly conduct, according to the Boston Globe.

Edson appears to be a performance artist and maintains a YouTube channel called Nat Sel -- short for Natural Selection.  The channel includes videos such as “Purgatory Vacation,” “Summer Fashion Advice,” “Internet Monopoly” and “Bloggorist Warning.” In some of the videos, Edson refers to himself as “Kayvon.”
