On Thursday morning, pop music's reigning bad boy was nabbed by Miami Beach, Fla., police for drag racing and drunk driving.

Justin Bieber, 19, was arrested around 4:11 a.m. while speeding in a residential neighborhood in a rented yellow Lamborghini. But the Biebs wasn't alone in quenching his need for speed. Joining the pop star in the drag race was aspiring singer Khalil Amir Sharief, who was racing Bieber in a red Ferrari.

Both Bieber and Sharief were charged with a DUI. And according to the arresting officer’s police report, 19-year-old Sharief had "droopy eyes" and was exhibiting slowed speech when officers approached his vehicle. They also encountered "the odor of marijuana" coming from the luxury car, reports the New York Daily News.

What else is there to know about Sharief? Here are five important facts about Bieber's pal and fellow musician.

1. He Documented The Night Before His Arrest

Though photos of the car Bieber was racing in were pulled from the superstar's Instagram account ahead of the news of his arrest breaking, Sharief's photos from their out-of-control night are still on his Instagram. They include a picture of Bieber driving the yellow Lambo with model Chantel Jeffries in the passenger seat.

2. He Is Also A Singer

Sharief -- who goes by the stage name Khalil -- was featured on a few tracks on Lil Twist's mixtape "The Golden Child." The Sacramento, Calif.-based singer signed to Def Jam Records in 2008, according to ABC News. The latest video release on his VEVO account was for his song "Stars."

3. He Has His Own Documentary

Sharief released the documentary "Khalil: A Long Story Short" in 2012. The first episode -- which makes up the only video post in what appeared to be a planned series -- follows how he manages to split his time between working on music and hanging with his friends and family.

4. He Has A Pretty Large Following Online

With more than 170,000 Twitter followers and close to 400,000 on Instagram, Sharief is quite the hit on social media. His accounts are full of photos with his friend Bieber and other members of their crew.

5. He Was Taken To The Miami-Dade County Jail

Both Bieber and Sharief were booked at the Miami Beach police headquarters. According to the Miami Herald, they were later fingerprinted and had their mug shots taken at the county's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
