George Lucas has reportedly popped the question to longtime girlfriend Mellody Hobson. Read this article to find out everything you need to know about the woman who just got engaged to the man behind the “Star Wars” empire (no pun intended.)

Lucas sold LucasFilm Ltd. to Disney in October for $4.05 billion, the majority of which he donated to education philanthropy, according to the Huffington Post.

And now that he’s unburdened himself of the massive company that bore his name, he’s finally settling down with Hobson, the Hollywood Reporter revealed on Thursday.

Nearly everyone is familiar with the 68-year-old Lucas, but his bride-to-be is far from a household name. Here’s five things you should know about Mellody Hobson:

1. She’s no new flame: Hobson, a 43-year-old, African-American Chicago native who still resides in the Windy City, has been dating Lucas for about seven years, according to USA Today.

2. Hobson's big in show biz, too: Though Lucas is one of the most-recognizable names in Hollywood, Hobson has made a name for herself in movies as well. As the chairwoman of DreamWorks Animation, she’s quite the media impresario herself. Her stellar career began with a bachelor of arts from the Woodrow Wilson School of International Relations at Princeton University, where she is a former trustee.

3. She’s diversified: As if heading up a massive animation firm wasn’t enough, the overachieving Hobson is also president and director of the Chicago money management company Ariel Investments, LLC, according to Forbes. And she’s also the financial contributor for “Good Morning America,” a role she has filled since 2000, according to ABC News, for which she hosted a 2009 special called “Unbroke.” And she is a regular columnist for Black Enterprise magazine. The list goes on - those are just her highest-profile positions.

4. Hobson will be Lucas’ second wife: Though the Hollywood Reporter says Hobson has never been married, Lucas has been down the aisle before. Between 1969 and 1983, the writer-director was married to Marcia Lucas – formerly Marcia Griffin – a film editor who earned an Academy Award nomination for her work on the 1976 Martin Scorsese classic “Taxi Driver,” and shared an Oscar for Best Editing with two colleagues for their work Lucas’ iconic 1977 film “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.”

5. She shares her mate’s love for philanthropy and community service: According to ABC News, Hobson serves as a board member for the Chicago Public Library, the Field Museum, the Chicago Public Education Fund and the Sundance Institute, which allows her to blend her movie industry experience with her good works.
