Justin Bieber’s head of security, Michael Arana, was arrested on Thursday morning after a car crash involving two police officers in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Arana was taken in on a DUI charge, according to WPLG Local 10 News, and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at around 7:30 a.m. Aside from the DUI, he also faces charges of DUI causing property damage or injury and leaving the scene of an accident.

Investigators told the outlet that Arana rear-ended and badly damaged a Miami-Dade Police Department cruiser, which injured two officers inside, a field training officer in the passenger seat and a rookie officer behind the wheel.

Both were taken to hospitals, though different ones. The training officer had to be airlifted to Jackson South, while the rookie cop was taken to Baptist West.

While both officers have since been released from their respective hospitals, the one who was airlifted did suffer a concussion and cut to the back of his head, while the other suffered back and head pain.

According to officers speaking with Local 10 News, Bieber’s bodyguard refused to participate in a field sobriety test or give a blood sample. They also said that they discovered receipts in his pockets that shows he bought alcoholic drinks around midnight.

Arana had a mug shot taken upon entering police custody and being booked.

As he’s been Bieber’s bodyguard for years now, Arana was around when Bieber himself was involved in a DUI arrest, which was also in Florida.

Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach in early 2014 on suspicion of DUI, driving without a valid license and resisting arrest without violence. Arana was with Bieber when the pop star left jail after his 2014 arrest.

Though he pleaded guilty to lesser charges, the singer ended up not serving any jail time as part of a plea deal. He did have to make a $50,000 donation to a youth charity a part of the deal.

International Business Times did not immediately hear back from a representative for Bieber with a comment on how this might affect Arana’s employment with the star.
