Peaches Geldof, the British television presenter and daughter of musician Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, died Monday in what U.K. authorities are calling an “unexplained and sudden" death. She was 25.

Geldof was a model and journalist whose writing career started when she began penning a column for Elle when she was 15 years old. She was pronounced dead by the South East Coast Ambulance Service after they arrived on the scene of an address in Kent.

“At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden,” Kent police said in a statement obtained by the BBC.

Her father called her “the wildest, funniest, cleverest wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us” in a statement posted to Twitter by Buzzfeed.

Peaches Geldof was married to musician Thomas Cohen. They have two sons, Astala, 1, and Phaedra, who turns 1 on April 24.

Her mother died in September 2000 at 41, and she spoke to Elle in 2012 about how she coped with losing her mom at a young age. Geldof said she was “numb” over the death.

"I remember the day my mother died, and it's still hard to talk about it," she said. "I just blocked it out. I went to school the next day because my father's mentality was 'keep calm and carry on'," she said, according to the BBC. “So we all went to school and tried to act as if nothing had happened. But it had happened. I didn't grieve. I didn't cry at her funeral. I couldn't express anything because I was just numb to it all. I didn't start grieving for my mother properly until I was maybe 16."

Her father, Bob Geldof, reportedly got into an argument over the phone with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence moments before the Australian rocker hanged himself in 1997. Hutchence, 47, was the boyfriend of Paula Yates, who was divorced from Bob Geldof at the time and was involved in a bitter custody battle with the Boomtown Rats vocalist.

The TV presenter had nearly 200,000 Twitter followers, and her account featured many pictures of her with her children. Her last photo posted was an Instagram photo of her and her mother:

The 25-year-old went viral in 2010 after a Reddit user claimed he had a one-night stand with Peaches Geldof that allegedly included scoring heroin and going to the Celebrity Scientology Center in Los Angeles.
