Surprised by the talented singer and songwriter at the Billboard Music Awards’ “One to Watch” performance? Although Tori Kelly was not up for any 2015 awards, her upcoming album “Unbreakable Smile,” could very well be a contender next year. Her acoustic single, “Nobody Love” brought down the house with her powerful vocal stylings and catchy melody.

Her voice has attracted over one million fans on YouTube, so before her first album comes out on June 23, check out these five fast facts about 22-year-old singer, Tori Kelly:

1. One Of Her First Breakout TV Moments Was Singing A Christina Aguilera Cover
During an appearance on “America’s Most Talented Kids” in 2004, an 11-year-old Kelly belted out "Keep on Singin' My Song."

2. Career Took Off Thanks To YouTube
Although Tori Kelly was signed at 12-years-old to a deal with Geffen Records, the short-lived contract didn’t advance her career. But at 14, the young aspiring singer began posting videos to YouTube and grew her fan base organically.

3. Kelly Once Competed On "American Idol"
Unfortunately, she didn’t win on the long-running talent competition, but her stint on Season 9 led her to focus more on her original songs.

4. Made Her First EP In Her Bedroom
The six songs she recorded in her bedroom and self-released as "Handmade Songs" landed on the iTunes Top 10 Pop Albums in 2012.

5. Previously Opened For Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith
After getting picked up by Capitol Records and releasing a new EP, Tori Kelly joined both Sheeran and Smith on the road as an opening act. In support of her new album, Kelly will headline her own tour this year.
