Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar, Ronda Rousey, is engaged to her boyfriend of two years, heavyweight Travis Browne. Browne, 34, proposed to Rousey — the first American woman to earn an Olympic Bronze medal in judo, which she won at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing — under a waterfall in New Zealand last week, TMZ Sports reported.

Rousey and Browne have been dating for over a year-and-a-half but decided to get married just last week, while on a trip to New Zealand. Browne said: “We were out under a waterfall in New Zealand and it felt like the right place to do it,” according to TMZ Sports.

Browne was born in Oahu, Hawaii on July 17, 1982. He attended high school in San Diego before going to Palomar College. He had no martial arts experience till the age of 26, when he was introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a martial art, combat sport system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting, reports said.

Browne signed with UFC in March 2010. He has a mixed martial arts (MMA) record of 18 victories, six losses and one draw, with 16 of the wins by stoppage. Before entering into martial arts career in 2009, he was a keen basketball player in his teens and also won the 2000 Coastal North League Player of the Year. By the age of 26, he began training in boxing and within less than a year, he had his first pro fight, according to reports.

In July 2015, Browne was accused of domestic violence after his ex-girlfriend Jenna Renee Webb, posted pictures of her bruises on Instagram. The photos, which assembled in a collage, were posted by Instagram user JennaReneeFit. In October 2014, Webb also posted a photo announcing her engagement to Browne; however, it has since been deleted, according to Fox Sports.
