Mixed martial artist War Machine, given name Jon Koppenhaver, is being sought by Las Vegas police in the beating of his girlfriend, Christy Mack. The 22-year-old pornographic film star reportedly suffered severe injuries.

Las Vegas police said Friday that War Machine was involved in an altercation with two individuals at his home, TMZ reports. The two victims in the assault – one of them described as Koppenhaver’s “significant other” – were taken to a hospital and treated for significant, but not life-threatening injuries.

Officers who arrived on the scene described War Machine as the “prime suspect,” but were initially unwilling to confirm that Mack was also involved in the incident. But Mack’s representative confirmed to TMZ on Saturday that she was assaulted, and was in “very bad shape.” Moreover, Mack was unable to confirm details on the encounter, as her injuries made it difficult for her to speak.

As of Monday midday, War Machine was still on the loose; Mack’s friends and family have offered a $5,000 for information on the MMA fighter’s whereabouts, TMZ notes. “We just want to find him. We are all very scared,” Mack’s rep said. Lt. Ted Glaud of the Las Vegas police said Koppenhaver could be headed to San Diego, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Despite being on the run, Koppenhaver continues to be active on Twitter. The 32-year-old fugitive took to the social media site over the weekend to explain his version of the incident.

Meanwhile, Bellator, the mixed martial arts promotions company that employed Koppenhaver, released a statement confirming that he had been fired. “We have a zero tolerance policy here at Bellator when it relates to any form of domestic violence, and after learning of this latest incident involving War Machine, Bellator is releasing him from his promotional contract with the organization,” Bellator president Scott Coker said.

The hospitalized Mack has yet to publicly address the alleged assault, but she wrote on Twitter that she plans to do so on Monday. “I will be releasing a statement in the morning to put many rumors to rest,” she wrote.

This isn't the first time Koppenhaver's relationship with Mack has come under scrutiny. The fighter caused outrage on social media in August 2013 after tweeting that he had "just raped" his girlfriend.

War Machine has dealt with legal trouble in the past. He was arrested in 2009 on a felony domestic violence charge, which was dismissed, as well as a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence with battery. He was also apprehended for assault after a San Diego bar fight in 2010.
