Oprah Winfrey had the internet fired up when she spoke about a possible run for president to take down President Donald Trump for the White House in 2020. However, her best friend Gayle King said Thursday that her friend was just playing around.

The "CBS This Morning" co-host said she was in the audience when Bloomberg Media’s David Rubenstein asked Winfrey, 63, about her political ambitions. The media mogul said she was considering a presidential bid despite the fact she, like Trump, had never before held public office.

“I was in the audience that day, and it was clearly a joke when she was playing with David [Rubenstein] because they have such a great rapport,” King, 62, said on “CBS This Morning. “But I also heard on the ‘Oprah Winfrey Show’ guys, over the years, you always have the right to change your mind. But I would bet my first, second born and any unborn children to come, that ain’t never happening.”

King continued, “I’ll say never on this one. Nevah. N-E-V-A-H. Nevah.”

On Wednesday, Rubenstein asked Winfrey: “Have you ever thought that – given the popularity you have, we haven’t broken the glass ceiling yet for women – that you could actually run for president and actually be elected?”

Winfrey told Rubenstein on his new show that she had never “considered the question,” but after Trump’s presidential victory she didn't see why not.

“I thought, ‘Oh, gee, I don’t have the experience. I don’t know enough. Now, I’m thinking, ‘Oh,’” Winfrey said, as the audience cheered on.

The legendary TV host, however, never really clarified whether she was serious about the possibility of running for president.

Winfrey, who was a Hillary Clinton supporter in the 2016 race, once indirectly referred to Trump as a “demagogue.”

“You don’t have to like her,” Winfrey said about Clinton last October. “Do you like democracy or do you want a demagogue?"
