The NBA will be announcing the MVP and other awards winners during their inaugural award show Monday night. The show will take place at Basketball City in Manhattan, New York and will be broadcast on TNT at 9 p.m. The show will be hosted by rapper and NBA superfan Drake.

The finalists for this year’s MVP are the Houston Rockets’ James Harden, the San Antonio Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard, and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook. Harden and the Rockets’ record for the season was 55-27, coming in third in the Western Conference. Harden was the first player to score 2,000 points and collect 2,000 assists in a single season in NBA history, according to ESPN in May. Harden averaged 29.1 points, 11.2 assists, 8.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game this season. He came in first in total assists for the NBA and second for overall scoring.

The Spurs finished second this season in the Western Conference going 61 and 21. Leonard was a defensive stalwart and averaged 25.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game this season.

Westbrook and the Thunder came in sixth in the Western Conference going 47 and 35. Westbrook averaged 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game. Westbrook led the NBA in total points and came in second in total assists. Westbrook also finished with 42 triple-doubles, beating the single-season record set by Oscar Robertson in the 1961-62 season. Westbrook also joins Robertson as the only two players to have averaged triple doubles for an entire season.

The finalists for Rookie of the Year are the Milwaukee Bucks’ guard Malcolm Brogden who was drafted 36th overall last year and the Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid and forward Dario Saric.

The Coach of the Year finalists are the Rockets’ Mike D’Antoni, the Spurs’ Gregg Popovich and the Miami Heat’s Erik Spoelstra. Under D’antoni the Rockets went 55 and 27. Popovich tied Phil Jackson this year by bringing the Spurs to the playoffs for the 20th consecutive time. Popovich has three Coach of the Year titles already. Spoelstra only went .500 with the Heat winning and losing 41 games, but manufactured a huge turn around for the Heat who started 11-30 and ended the season 30-11.

The finalists for Defensive Player of the Year are the Golden State Warriors’ big man Draymond Green, the Spurs’ Leonard and the Utah Jazz’s center Rudy Gober, who is also a finalist for the Most Improved Player award. The others are the Bucks’ Giannis Anteokounmpo who led his team in rebounds, assists, points, blocks and steals, and Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic.
