Actress Jensen Buchanan was arrested early Wednesday morning after her vehicle crossed a median on a California highway causing a crash.

According to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, the former “One Life to Live” star was booked and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol with injury or death. “Entertainment Tonight” reports she was also charged with driving under the influence of .08 alcohol and causing bodily injury. Buchanan, 53, will remain in custody until posting $100,000 bail.

CBS Los Angeles reported that California Highway Patrol responded to the incident at 6:19 a.m. PDT. According to their initial report, Buchanan’s car crossed two solid yellow lines, driving into oncoming traffic. The soap opera actress then collided with another car. Buchanan suffered minor injuries. The other driver — Bradley Asolas, 56 — is said to have suffered major injuries for which he was immediately treated. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital along with Buchanan. She was arrested inside the facility.

“It is confirmed Jensen Buchanan as the driver of a black Mercedes,” public information officer John Ortega said via “Entertainment Tonight.” “Jensen Buchanan was arrested for DUI — she had minor injuries and went to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. As far as law enforcement is aware, she is still there.”

Buchanan has been well known in the soap opera world for many years. She made her debut in 1987 on “One Life to Live.” She also has had roles in “Another World,” “General Hospital,” “As the World Turns” and “The Young and the Restless.”
