Barron Trump will continue living in New York along with first lady Melania Trump despite President Donald Trump moving to the White House. The decision was taken so that Barron could complete attending fourth grade at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in New York City.

Barron, who will be joining school from Wednesday after attending his father's swearing-in ceremony in Washington, D.C., will be the first presidential son to live in the White House since John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1963. The 10-year-old is expected to finish his year of studies before moving to Washington, D.C., to live in the first family’s presidential quarters inside the White House.

As Barron resumes his school, local authorities have started preparing to arrange for the security of the first family as they travel to and from Trump Tower. According to reports, Barron will now be escorted by the Secret Service and NYPD, along with his mother, on his way to and from his private school.

According to TMZ, the streets will be blocked off in a “rolling pattern for just a few minutes to allow the first lady’s convoy to move quickly” from midtown’s Trump Tower to Barron’s school on the Upper West Side. The route to Barron's school will also be changed on a regular basis for security purposes.

"Some parents are freaking out and worked up about security and what the school is going to do," a school board member told Vanity Fair in November after the real estate mogul was elected as the 45th president of the United States.

Melania previously explained that she wants to keep Barron enrolled at the school, which costs $45,000 annually, throughout the year to avoid shaking up the 10-year-old's life too much.

"At that age, it's hard to explain to them," Melania told Us Weekly about Barron being nervous about switching schools. “I tell him: Take it day by day, enjoy your life, live your meaningful life as I like to do. … Of course, at that age, every child would worry, especially if they love school, if they love friends, they don't want to lose that. Everything is a new opportunity, and it brings new friends and a new school. You never know, you never know what happens. Enjoy it day by day, live your life and don't stress yourself."
