Matthias Inwood as Richard
Richard (Matthias Inwood) feels like he has let Moll (Abigail Hardingham) down in a sneak peek from Season 1, episode 8 of “Will.” TNT/Aidan Monaghan

Moll (Abigail Hardingham) isn’t happy about Richard’s (Matthias Inwood) philandering.

In a sneak peek from next week’s Season 1, episode 8 of TNT’s “Will,” Moll calls Richard out on his romantic adventures from the previous night.

“Do you ever know her name?” Moll asks James Burbage’s (Colm Meaney) only son.

“Of course I know her name,” Richard replies, before claiming that the lady he was with last night was named Peg. “[She’s a] charming young woman with many fine qualities.”

Autolycus (Shane Zaza), however, thinks that Richard is bluffing them. “Peg’s my girl’s name,” Richard’s best friend reminds him.

Richard tries to cover up his lies, but immediately loses steam. “I was just having a bit of fun. What’s so wrong with that?” Richard asks Moll.

“Why ask me?” Moll replies.

“I don’t know,” Richard says, before admitting that he feels like he has let Moll down.

Elsewhere in episode 8, Will (Laurie Davidson) finds out about Alice’s (Olivia DeJonge) new passion. According to the synopsis for the episode, Will is shocked when he discovers that Alice has suddenly become interested in Catholicism.

Following her split from Will, Alice unexpectedly found solace in Southwell (Max Bennett). In Season 1, episode 7, Southwell handed Alice a novelette about Mary Magdalene. Southwell, who is a champion of Catholicism, admitted to Alice that Mary Magdalene’s story isn’t a crowd-pleaser like most of Will’s plays, but Southwell assured her that she would enjoy reading it because Mary Magdalene is “quite an adventurous young woman.”

After another argument with Will, Alice paid Southwell a visit and aired her grievances about the playwright. When Alice mentioned that she’s already tired of Will’s seemingly inconsistent feelings for her, Southwell told the scribe that “there’s only one love that is constant and steadfast, one love that remains faithful and forgiving [and] available to all who seek it.”

After Alice made it clear that she’s done with men trying to play her with words, Southwell invited her to a baptism. While Alice didn’t utter a single word during the whole process, she noticeably shed a tear at the end of it, suggesting that the holy Catholic ceremony moved her.

“Will” Season 1, episode 8, titled “Your Houses,” airs on Monday, Aug. 21, at 11 p.m. EDT on TNT.
